Yoon Meng is a young designer keen on envisioning the future and its relationship to various interconnected aspects of society from business markets to the economy, from history to culture, from technology to where we might be living 50 years from now and how we might be working tomorrow. He believes that designs of the future need to be integrated from a holistic point of view to simplify an increasingly complicated World.

And it doesn’t work vice-versa, as in a well simplified World, living becomes less of a challenge as further complex solutions are not necessary. If you look at design as technology, there is always a right tool for every problem. Designers spend time figuring out a better solution than the one that is already invented, at the same time preserving the ones that still work best from the past.

A designer, Yoon Meng has an architectural background with a range of design experience covering urban design, architecture, interior design, furniture, graphics, branding, and marketing. His goal is to one day be involved in Space projects and possibly even travel to Space to see the next human frontier.

Visionaries need to keep in touch with today’s most avant garde movements to better understand a future that awaits ten, twenty years down the track. In an increasingly value-conscious industry, we do not encourage guesswork, a strong foundation in research data and facts are essential. Design is a form of research. Invest in long-lasting designs that can adapt to future changes.

Feel free to keep in touch to share your future insights and concerns.

Yoon Meng is currently working for HMSK Architecture in Kuala Lumpur. He is attached to the design team.
